Ampliación Mega - natural gas liquids (NGL)
Expansion of the MEGA Industrial Complex to add 1,500 tonnes per day of natural gas liquids on top of a current capacity of 5,500. It touches three fronts: new facilities at the Loma La Lata separation plant (Neuquén), more transport capacity on the pipeline that crosses Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa and Buenos Aires, and the expansion of the Bahía Blanca fractionation plant. The resolution sets that 60% of the amount earmarked for suppliers, goods and infrastructure works goes to local suppliers, against the 20% the regime requires. Commercial operation of the expansion starts, per the instrument, on February 28, 2029, with a declared useful life of 18 years. Official portal: 792 jobs (direct and indirect).

What we have on this project for a supplier
Who decides the purchase, who you invoice and where a new supplier registers.
Which lines each phase buys and when the window opens for each one.
Which they are, why it will need them and who could provide them.
All of this is surveyed and verified against its source. Crossed with what you sell —which of them your products suit, how to reach it and when— it is in your company report. Request the report
We cross what you manufacture or do against the 2 phases of this project and tell you which ones you fit into and when each one buys. Two pages, with the evidence behind them.

New separation and fractionation capacity for natural gas liquids at the MEGA industrial complex
Productiveadditional tonnes per day on top of a current capacity of 5,500, that is, more than 500,000 tonnes a year of ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline
Neuquén's gas chain, which stops flaring or exporting as gas what is now separated out, and the petrochemical industry of Bahía Blanca, which takes the ethane
The resolution approving the RIGI adhesion states the purpose: to expand natural gas liquids production capacity by 1,500 tonnes per day on top of a current capacity of 5,500 tonnes per day verif. In annual terms that is more than 500,000 tonnes of ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline, and eight out of every ten tonnes of that additional volume are exported through Bahía Blanca; the rest is mostly ethane for the local petrochemical industry prob.
Added transport capacity on the Loma La Lata – Bahía Blanca liquids pipeline
Productivethe entire liquids chain leaving Neuquén for the petrochemical hub and the port of Bahía Blanca
This is the second of the three fronts the act declares: the Loma La Lata separation plant in Neuquén, the «Loma La Lata – Bahía Blanca» pipeline crossing Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa and Buenos Aires, and the Bahía Blanca fractionation plant. The act declares the three fronts but breaks down neither the investment nor the capacity of each one.
- What it already pays in taxes and royalties — We have not broken down this project’s local fiscal contribution: the primary source that sets each item still has to be opened, and an act of the State is not published on press backing.
- Who promised what — We have not surveyed the public promises about this project. A dated, verifiable commitment with its source closes them.
What could stall it
risks and how to track them
- What could stall it — We have not documented this project’s risks. An identifiable vector with its source closes them.
- How to tell whether it is advancing — We have not defined this project’s indicators: what observable fact marks its progress still has to be identified.

What we could not confirm
There are 5 in this project. Each says why it could not be confirmed and what it would take to close it.
H-01How the investment splits across the three work fronts (separation, pipeline, fractionation).+
The resolution declares the total and the computable amount, not their breakdown by front.
H-02How much of the additional 1,500 tonnes a day is separated in Neuquén and how much is fractionated in Bahía Blanca.+
Neither the resolution nor the official portal breaks capacity down by plant.
H-03When each front goes to tender and for how much.+
The act sets the minimum investment deadline (1 Oct 2027) and the commercial start date (28 Feb 2029), but not the contracting schedule.
H-04The 792 direct and indirect jobs, and how they split between construction and operation.+
The figure comes from the official portal, which publishes it as a single combined number. The resolution carries NO employment figure: it says «estimación del empleo directo e indirecto del Proyecto con integración local» without a number. The «800 jobs» the Ministerio de Economía tweeted on 26 and 28 August are that same figure, rounded.
H-05Who is building it: not a single contractor has been made public on any of the three work fronts+
Neither the resolution, nor the official RIGI portal, nor the project's own publicity names a single construction company. The resolution sets out the year-by-year investment plan but not the contracting schedule, and the company publishes no supplier gateway for this project. ⛔ And there is an easy mistake to avoid here: the new natural gas liquids fractionation train in Bahía Blanca that the company COMPLETED in May 2026 is a different job —USD 260 million—, not this one, which is roughly USD 360 million and has not started.
We look at what your company does and tell you whether we see a sign that it fits this market, with the evidence behind it. If we do not see one, we say so too and name the condition that would change it. One page as a dated PDF, within 48 working hours.
