The method

Every figure goes through the same thing before it is published: source, date and seal. None goes out without saying where it comes from, and the seal says how much we stand behind it: only what we read in the official source is «verified». Three steps, and none is skipped:

01Supervised AI. We use AI systems to extract, sort and cross thousands of sources, directed by an ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer (AI governance) and Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer. Machines check the facts: the seal on each claim is set by written rules and automatic checks. A person checks the reasoning: he asks for the summary and the competing explanations, and decides which one the evidence supports.

02Double-check. Before publishing, every claim is put to the test: a second, independent process looks for contradictions, errors and evidence that could change the conclusion. What does not hold up is not published.

03Primary source. A figure is only «verified» when we check it against the primary source —the Official Gazette, INDEC, a balance sheet—. If we do not reach that proof we mark it as probable; we never inflate it. Every figure carries the link to that source and its date; if the source corrects, we correct.

And this is not a promise: this is how Vicuña appears on the site, with the same seal and the same link that every other figure carries. Note that the two do not weigh the same — we read the instrument, the amount is the announcement:

We publish the data and the method so you can decide with better information; the decision —and its risk— is yours. The seal tells you exactly how much each figure holds up. The full rules of use are in the Terms.

And a seal qualifies the proof, not the outcome: an investment marked «verified» means we read the act that announces it — not that the money will be disbursed. What is verified is the document; what happens next we track and update.

Despegue exists to make visible where the big economic changes turn into concrete opportunities for work, investment and business, and to back that with data anyone can check.

We track projects, rules, companies, markets, provinces and economic series because none of those pieces is enough on its own. The value appears when they cross: where the investment is landing, what is changing, who buys, which capabilities are needed and which doors are opening.

The public site shows that map and lets you open its sources. For a company we go one step further: we cross what it does with the projects, buyers, phases and requirements we track to identify where we see a fit, when the purchase appears and what is worth preparing.

We also hold a thesis and we state it openly: we believe certain institutional and economic conditions can help resources such as energy, mining and agriculture translate into more investment and work in Argentina. That is our reading, not a fact.

That is why we keep it apart from the evidence: every figure keeps its source, its date and its confidence level, and can confirm, qualify or contradict our own thesis.

We are not asking you to trust Despegue because you share our interpretation. We want you to be able to check what we publish even if you do not.
