On Sep 24, 2026 the Senate, as revising chamber, passed the reform of the Zona Fría regime: 38 votes in favor, 8 against and 26 absent, in general and in detail. The Chamber of Deputies had given it first-round approval in May 2026. According to the Senate's press release, the reform keeps the benefit in Patagonia, Malargüe and the Puna, removes the fixed 50% discount from the law and empowers the Executive to define its scope and terms. verif Sep 24, 2026 ↗
