Ampliación Mega - natural gas liquids (NGL)
Expansion of the MEGA Industrial Complex to add 1,500 tonnes per day of natural gas liquids on top of the 5,500 it produces today. It touches three fronts: new facilities at the Loma La Lata separation plant (Neuquén), more transport capacity on the pipeline that crosses Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa and Buenos Aires, and the expansion of the Bahía Blanca fractionation plant. The resolution sets that 60% of the amount earmarked for suppliers, goods and infrastructure works goes to local suppliers, against the 20% the regime requires. Commercial operation of the expansion starts, per the instrument, on February 28, 2029, with a declared useful life of 18 years. Official portal: 792 jobs (direct and indirect).

The works, milestone by milestone
Resolución 1381/2026 is published in the Boletín Oficial. From here the project enters the approved roster of the official RIGI portal.
The Ministerio de Economía signs Resolución 1381/2026 approving the accession.
The legal accession date to the RIGI set by the act. It is the one that starts the two-year clock of article 50, and it is 29 days earlier than publication.
Compañía Mega S.A. Sucursal Dedicada files its RIGI accession request for the expansion of a pre-existing project that had not joined the regime.
Who already has a contract
We have not surveyed this project’s awards. A published contract with its source closes them.
How to supply itwhere to register, what they ask for and what they will buy
How to become a supplier
We have not built this project’s entry map. It is our gap, not a prohibition: it closes by opening the provincial register and the operator’s single window.
What it will buy, and when
Each phase buys different things at different times.
Construction of the expansion
under wayThe act approves the investment plan for the first two years counted from notification: USD 121,613,889 in the first and USD 152,709,106 in the second, with Oct 1, 2027 as the deadline to complete the minimum investment amount. The work adds 1,500 tonnes per day of natural gas liquids on top of the 5,500 the complex already produces, and touches three fronts: Loma La Lata, the pipeline and Bahía Blanca. ⚠️ The resolution does not declare a construction start date: the starting year is the year of admission, which is when the investment plan runs.
They are not buying any of this today. Open the phase to see the detail and arrive qualified the day it goes to tender.
What it will need and has no supplier for yet
Electromechanical assembly and detailed engineering for the Loma La Lata separation plant
highThe resolution declares new facilities at the separation plant as one of the three work fronts. It sits in Neuquén and feeds the other two, so it is the first one to be contracted. And the 60% local-supplier commitment is in the instrument itself, not in a press statement.
Pipeline works and integrity on the Río Negro stretch
highExpanding the transport capacity of the Loma La Lata to Bahía Blanca pipeline requires working on the line in all four provinces it crosses, and Río Negro is one of them. That means welding, non-destructive testing and cathodic protection.
Heavy-haul logistics between Neuquén and Bahía Blanca
mediumThree work fronts separated by the length of the pipeline move large equipment by road, on a corridor that Vaca Muerta construction already has under strain.

What it leaves in Neuquénjobs, works, taxes, promises and the outlook
- The works that stay behind — We have not surveyed this project’s permanent works. A published size with its source closes them.
- What it already pays in taxes and royalties — We have not broken down this project’s local fiscal contribution: the primary source that sets each item still has to be opened, and an act of the State is not published on press backing.
- Who promised what — We have not surveyed the public promises about this project. A dated, verifiable commitment with its source closes them.
What could stall itrisks and how to track them
- What could stall it — We have not documented this project’s risks. An identifiable vector with its source closes them.
- How to tell whether it is advancing — We have not defined this project’s indicators: what observable fact marks its progress still has to be identified.

What we could not confirm
There are 4 in this project. Each says why it could not be confirmed and what it would take to close it.
H-01How the investment splits across the three work fronts (separation, pipeline, fractionation).+
The resolution declares the total and the computable amount, not their breakdown by front.
H-02How much of the additional 1,500 tonnes a day is separated in Neuquén and how much is fractionated in Bahía Blanca.+
Neither the resolution nor the official portal breaks capacity down by plant.
H-03When each front goes to tender and for how much.+
The act sets the minimum investment deadline (1 Oct 2027) and the commercial start date (28 Feb 2029), but not the contracting schedule.
H-04The 792 direct and indirect jobs, and how they split between construction and operation.+
The figure comes from the official portal, which publishes it as a single combined number. The resolution carries NO employment figure: it says «estimación del empleo directo e indirecto del Proyecto con integración local» without a number. The «800 jobs» the Ministerio de Economía tweeted on 26 and 28 August are that same figure, rounded.
